Parker Griffith information surfaces

In a Press Release from ALGOP, dated Tuesday, September 23rd.

Dr. Parker Griffith Documents Detail Painful Practice
Birmingham, AL – New information has been obtained that involves an independent review of Dr. Parker Griffith’s oncology practice. The documentation speaks to the heart of Griffith’s character, and his apparent disregard for the overall well being of cancer patients. The following excerpts of that study will detail this information and the apparent attempt by Griffith to “under treat” cancer patients so that they would have to have more visits for treatment, which would equal more money for Griffith, it is unfortunate that Griffith evidently put himself before care and comfort of the patients that he was entrusted and obligated to protect.
Below are excerpts from: “Report to the Board of Trustees of the Huntsville Hospital Relative to the Program in Radiation Oncology at the Huntsville Hospital” (Report by Dr. Luther Brady, 17 & 18 November 1987)
Upon reviewing records of patients under the care of Dr. Griffith, Dr. Brady found:
“…prolonged radiation programs that have led to unwarranted pain and suffering.”
“…situations where more aggressive programs of management would have resulted in cure.”
“…the best that one can say is that it was treatment (By Parker Griffith) designed to insure recurrence of the patient’s disease process…”
ALGOP Communications Director Philip Bryan stated, “This independent study of Griffith’s treatment of patients is disturbing and sickening. It is unconscionable to think that a doctor would intentionally under treat a cancer patient so that they would have to undergo more painful visits and treatments, this new evidence seriously calls Griffith’s character into question.”
